Overview
The Lions Club of Ranaghat West is proud to operate a dedicated Eye Care Centre, providing essential eye treatments and surgeries to those in need at little to no cost. Our Centre serves as a beacon of hope for thousands, offering services through eleven Vision Centres and numerous Outreach Camps in rural villages. We collaborate with seven government Primary Health Centres (PHCs) in Nadia District, ensuring patients receive timely and effective care. Supported by government funding through the NDBCS, and in partnership with various organizations, we continue our mission to combat preventable blindness and improve vision care accessibility for all.
Outdoor
Our eye hospital offers a range of essential outdoor services at the affordable rate of Rs. 50/-. We offer three mejor services:
- Eye check-ups: Regular eye examinations to assess your vision.
- Refraction: Determining your eyeglass prescription.
- Color vision testing: Assessing your ability to perceive colors.

- Retinal Disease: Diabetic retinopathy & macular degeneration.

History of the Inauguration 2001, by Lion A P Singh
Inaugurated on June 23, 2001, by Lion A P Singh, the then District Governor of Lions District 322B, our Eye Care Centre spans 12,000 sq. ft. over three floors, strategically located in the heart of Ranaghat, just 80 km from Kolkata. We serve patients from surrounding districts such as Murshidabad, 24 Parganas (North), Hooghly, Burdwan, and even from Bangladesh, covering a serviceable area of 8,927 sq. km. Our skilled team includes 7 ophthalmologists, 10 optometrists, and 21 nursing staff, providing cutting-edge treatments such as phacoemulsification, vitrectomy, and laser surgeries. With advanced facilities like YAG and ARGON lasers, Auto Refractometry, and OCT, we ensure top-tier eye care. Our regular activities include outreach camps, surgeries, public awareness programs, and partnerships like the SIGHT FOR KIDS initiative, offering comprehensive eye care services to all.
